MAVERICKS

Mavericks is an Emmy award-winning feature documentary film that tells the story of Montana’s freestyle skiing legacy, through the struggles, victories, and journeys of the state’s most renowned skiers, as they share a common bond that is the unbreakable Montana spirit. Over several years of filming and production, Kelly and co-producer Scott Sterling of Montana PBS used original cinematography and archival footage to tell this compelling story. Mavericks premiered in 2022 and has been recognized with several awards including the Montana Broadcasters Association non-commercial production of the year; 2nd place in the National Press Photographers Association Best of Photojournalism long-form documentary category, the Flathead Lake International Cinemafest Best Feature Documentary and was nominated for five NATAS Emmy Awards and earned the Emmy for editing in addition to being an official selection at the Bozeman Film Festival and MINT Film Festival.
